Memorial University Core Science Facility (CSF)

ER 2026 and all associated workshops will take place in Memorial University of Newfoundland's (MUN) Core Science Facility (CSF) in room CSF-1302 and CSF-1309A/B.

Memorial University’s Core Science Facility (CSF) welcomed the first students through its doors in September 2021. This state-of-the art facility is a catalyst for collaboration and new discoveries, a rich on-campus learning environment for students and a focal point for the St. John’s campus.

The building design was inspired by the natural characteristics of the province, particularly icebergs. The designers considered icebergs to be a beautiful floating piece of natural science, which had a direct impact on the building’s shape and colour. The natural science and engineering of an iceberg also embodies much of what will happen in terms of the research and learning inside the Core Science Facility.

Receptions, meals and coffee breaks will take place in the Whale Atrium, which is located just outside of room CSF-1302. The atrium houses the skeleton of a blue whale that was recovered from the west coast of Newfoundland in 2014 after washing ashore in Bonne Bay.

Visitors at Memorial's St. John's campus can access a wireless Internet connection.
